Lana tee for her and for me

It is not often that my girlies and I appear on the blog together, but here I am with my big love participating in the Lana top and dress tour today. This is the latest release from Coffee and Thread.

The minute I saw the Wide Leg Pants, a free pattern created by Emily from In the Folds for Peppermint magazine, I knew I wanted to sew a pair for myself. However I have heard that fitting pants could be a nerve wrecking exercise, so I decided to wait until my nervous system was ready for a shake up.

I didn't expect that my last three winter makes would go so well together! The patterns are the Adrienne skirt from Style Arc, the Juniper cardigan from Jennifer Lauren Handmade, and the Idyllwild tee from Itch to Stitch.

Have you heard the exciting news? La Maison Victor's trial English edition was such a success they will be publishing a new magazine in English every 5-6 weeks! The new edition is already available in the US and UK, and it is due to reach our shores around the 21st of May.

I have a secret hobby. I like to go 'window shopping' for patterns and fabric. Style Arc is currently one of my favourite sites to visit. They have so many patterns that I love. A few times my 'window shopping' resulted in a purchase. I recently posted about my versions of Style Arc's Courtney top. Today I would like to introduce you to another fab pattern - the Lacey dress.

Two tops more, one dress less

I am absolutely in love with the Courtney top pattern from Style Arc. In fact I love it so much I cut up my first Fringe dress to make a Courtney top! But before you condemn me for committing such an atrocity, please hear me out!

Fringe dress in double gauze

A few days ago I posted a question on Instagram wondering if I should be concerned about a friend of mine who made three Fringe dresses in less than a month. I know that you know I was not talking about a 'friend'. Yep. I really did it. I love this amazing pattern by Chalk and Notch so much I made three dresses in less than a month. And I love them all. The first Fringe dress is my 'special occasion' dress. The second was also made with rayon, but the print made it look so cool and casual! And now the third :)

There is something magical about the colour red. For some it associates with danger. For me, it is a colour of love, passion, confidence, fun and beauty. Whenever I wear this dress I feel I could conquer the world. Seriously, don't mess with a woman wearing red!

Fringe in blue

When one finds a patterns that makes them feel beautiful, one has got to make it again. At least that is what I told myself after the success of my first Fringe dress by Chalk and Notch, and promptly stitched up one more.

It has been a while since I looked at myself in a mirror and felt pretty. In this dress, made in this fabric, I feel beautiful!

You probably recognise the Fringe dress pattern which was released by Gabriela from Chalk and Notch a couple of months ago. The Fringe dress took the sewing world by storm, and the hype around this pattern is understandable - it is simply amazing!

La Maison Victor tour: the Dolores skirt

La Maison Victor magazine is well known to my European sewing friends, perhaps especially those in Belgium, Holland, Germany and France. Recently La Maison Victor published its first English edition! I am one of the first few lucky people who got to hold this beautiful magazine in their hands.

You know those beautiful women in magazines with their locks gracefully floating in the wind? I am not one of them. I am sleep deprived and I don't enjoy being in front of the camera. In fact, when I saw the following photos I considered posting a headless shot on IG and move on. But where is fun in that? So how about we ignore the awkward photos and admire the cardigan?

This is the Julia Cardigan from Mouse House Creations. I made a cap sleeve version of this pattern almost three years ago. I kept on meaning to make a long sleeve version ever since.

Briar tee in French Terry from MaaiDesign

Do you ever spend days trying to find a perfect pattern that would do special fabric justice?

When Maaike from MaaiDesign offered me to try one of the latest French Terry fabrics from her shop, I chose the Palms print. And then I spent three days in agony! OK, I might be slightly dramatising things here. I was not in agony, but I seriously spent three days trying to choose a pattern that would be perfect for this fabric.
