Constant CHANGE: finale

This is it friends. The Constant CHANGE series has come to an end.

I would like to thank our wonderful guests for sharing their thoughts about changes in their lives and beautiful projects they have created. It was great to get to know you all a little better.

I would also like to thank my  friend Renee. Renee, it's been fun planning and hosting this series with you. Thank you for your encouragement and support leading up and during the series.

And last but not least I would like to thank our readers for such a warm response to the series, encouraging comments and great company.

Today I welcome Magda from House of Estrela. Magda lives in Portugal. She is a mum two children, a girl and a boy. She sews for herself and her little ones.

Magda is a real inspiration. She practically taught herself how to sew, and she is unstoppable. She is into refashioning, and just like myself, Magda is very practical. Just look at this outfit Magda made for her daughter from her sister's dress. I bet Magda's son was the best dressed boy at her niece's wedding.

Constant CHANGE: Made with Moxie

Today I am honoured to introduce Jill from Made with Moxie. Jill is cool, calm and awesome. Have you heard of the Perfect Pattern Parcel? Yep, that's Jill's baby. Jill's Prefontane shorts are on my To Sew list for this summer. I imagine Jill has a lot of fun taking photos of her creations, she just looks so comfortable in front of the camera. If not - she is good at faking it! Love the photos of this top (and the top itself). Of course I am only giving you a small taste of what you can find on Jill's blog, you will just have to visit her to see more.

Constant CHANGE: Thirtynine

Today I am pleased to welcome Marisa from Thirtynine as my guest for the series.

Last year I was checking out a new (to me) sewing blog and noticed that Marisa left a lot of comments there. I got a little curious and thought I would have a look at her blog too... Over a year later I still love reading Marisa's blog! Her sewing is beautiful and she has a great sense of humour!

I think a tee shirt Marisa made for her son for Kids Clothes Week is such a fun project! I also love this outfit Marisa made for her daughter.

Constant CHANGE: sisko by mieke

Today I welcome Mieke from sisko by mieke. Mieke is super cool and incredibly talented. I can't remember how I came across Mieke's blog. I remember that I popped over to have a quick look, but could not stop scrolling through her posts, looking at the amazing things she makes. While I don't understand what Mieke writes (unless she writes a little in English) it does not stop me from admiring her creations and appreciating her talent.

A couple of Mieke's recent projects that I absolutely love is this gorgeous outfit she made for her daughter and this top she made for herself. Mieke generously offers a free Janneke dress pattern in sizes 3 - 24 months. The pattern is in Dutch, but instructions are easy to follow.

Constant CHANGE: Dandelion Drift

I am pleased to introduce my guest today - the super talented Teresa from Dandelion Drift. Teresa simply cannot sit still. She is constantly busy with her family and community. She is going to run her first marathon next month!

Teresa loves sewing, and it definitely shows. Things she makes are perfect. A few months ago Teresa and I participated in the Flip This Pattern challenge. Teresa's embroidered knit version of the dress was the winning project, and it is obvious why. Teresa's knit pleated skirt is on my To Sew list for sure.

Constant CHANGE: Handmade Frenzy

Today I would like to introduce lovely Heidi of Handmade Frenzy. Heidi lives in the US with her husband and two children, a boy and a girl. In a few months time Heidi's family will grow as she is currently expecting a baby!

I have been following Heidi's blog for as long as I have been blogging myself. Heidi picks great patterns and chooses beautiful fabrics. Everything Heidi makes looks gorgeous and very well made. Just check out this cool Spring Showers Jacket she made for her son out of PUL fabric. Heidi's 'flipped' Charlie top is one of my all time favourite.

Constant CHANGE: While she was sleeping

There have been many changes in my life. Some were exciting, some were tough. Over the past few years I moved countries, changed a dozen of addresses and a few jobs, got married, had a child. My husband and I are in a slow process of turning our second house into a family home. I even work in the change industry. How you wonder? I work in family support services. A social worker at your service :) Seriously, I can talk about change and list exciting and anxiety provoking turns in my journey for ages. 

There is one thing I look forward to every year. The change from cold to warm. Transition from winter to spring, and then summer. A lot of people get surprised when I say that I dislike cold. OK, dislike is not the most appropriate term. I hate cold. With a passion. No, having experienced over 20 Russian winters did not make me immune to cold. I can definitely feel it. So when the sun is starting to feel warm and days get longer, I become very excited. Late spring and summer are my favourite seasons. 

While I am half the brain force behind this series, it took me a little while to decide what to make for it. At first I was going to sew something for myself. Then I thought I could make curtains for our bedroom, if making curtains was not so boring. Cushions for our new couch were high on the list, but the couch has not arrived yet. In the end it was a purely practical decision - it was getting warmer, and my daughter needed new clothes.
