Waterfall raglans

I had a mental picture of a beautiful sibling photo-shoot to present the matching tops I made for the girlies a few weeks ago... This is the best we got! hahaha One day I may be able to share tastefully styled photos of cooperating models... Until then, buckle up and embrace the reality!


Last summer I made a couple of Waterfall raglan tops for my little girlie. I blogged about one here. I loved how it looked on her. As temperatures in my corner of the world began to drop I decided to make long sleeve Waterfall raglan tops for both of my girlies.


Miss R chose Robert Kaufman Pink Fox knit from Bebeloush designs for her top. My little animal lover insisted this print was just what she wanted. You should have seen the look on her face when the fabric arrived! It was a picture of pure excitement.


I pre-washed the fabric straight away, but didn't sew the top for a few more weeks. Every single day she asked me if I was going to make her foxy top that night. When I finally made it she wanted to wear it straight away! We were going out for dinner that night and while I felt somewhat hesitant that stains from Spaghetti Bolognaise would enhance the overall appearance of the top before it was photographed for the blog, I just could not make her wait any longer!


While we were chatting with one of the restaurant workers she commented on Miss R's new top. Miss R promptly replied that her mummy made it and that she had to wait for it for ages!


I made Miss R's top in size 5 width with size 6 length. I didn't add any length to the sleeves and I think I should have.


Miss L's top is straight size 18 months, with sleeves shortened by 1,5 - 2 cm. I think I got a little over-excited shortening them. Oops!


I used Looming Love in pastel Art Gallery knit I purchased from House of Cloth ages ago for the body and Art Gallery Strawberry Kiss from Ministry of Fabric for the sleeves. 



Miss L appreciates the ruffle at the bottom of her top. Very often she would stand twisting from one side to the other watching the ruffle twirl. She is so sweet :)


I love how these tops look on my girlies. I am certain both of them will have more Waterfall raglan tops and dresses in their wardrobes!

    It's so great when their mama-mades are highly anticipated AND they share their enthusiasm (or impatience - haha) with others. This pattern seems like a great cool weather staple.

      Thank you Rachel. Yes, it was so cute and funny how she had to add about the wait haha This is a brilliant pattern for any season! The little one practically lived in a waterfall tee last summer, now they have these, and I am hoping to make a couple on fleece!

    How very adorable Jenya. And I think you have done a very good job of photographing them together. Love the fox print. How Ms. R has grown!
